It doesn't look so bad afterall.

The person I'm making this for loved it!  So I decided to pursue the original plan and finish it with both pinks.  You can kind of see the hound's tooth pattern, but it is very soft and pretty! It reminds me of the peppermint ice cream they sell around the holidays.  Yum!
